Esta v.Rogers-Hutte is a first generation off spring from our kennel. Esta is from our E litter breeding between Greta v.d. Salzmarsch X Colt vom Entenmoor. We had the good fortune of watching Colt mature from an 8 week old puppy into a solid, well balanced hunting machine. He was the 2nd place dog at the 2008 Armbruster and voted most beautiful male. The breeding between Greta ( AKA- Gunner) and Colt produced a very solid litter for us.
Esta has been very biddable, cooperative and cautious on birds, right from the get go. She was slightly slow to mature possibly a few months behind some of her litter mates in her field work, but she more than made up for it in desire. Esta has proven to be very strong in her forest work with an immense desire to work blood tracks. However, if we had to pick one thing she absolutely excels at it would be her water work. Esta was doing HZP level water work at a very young age with very little training. She is a very enjoyable dog to be around, friendly and non-aggressive around people and dogs. She is what we call an ‘Easy Keeper’ she has a very nice transition from hunting machine to household companion. Esta had above average testing scores (see her dog page) and was rated SG/V ( 10/12) in the Breed show. Esta is a nice sixe female at 60 cm tall and 61 cm long weighing 63 lbs. We are very excited to utilize Esta for our next generation.
I first had the chance to see Olaf in Northern Wisconsin the spring of 2016, after watching him in the field I knew I wanted to learn more about him. At that time I added him to my mental list of dogs to watch. Over the next several months I was able to contact other kennels who had utilized Olaf, and people who had hunted with him, I became more and more impressed with his talents. Olaf is a true monster in the field, forest, and water, he is a bird finding machine, covers good ground, is cooperative and willing to work. A lot of times, these types of dogs are slightly harder to live with in and around the house because they constantly want to be on the go, not so with Olaf. This dog has an amazing switch that allows him to settle into house life after the hunt. When I visited Olaf at various points over the weekend I had to look for him in the house, most times he was curled up patiently waiting for attention.
We are really exciting about bringing together some very solid genes to produce our G litter. We expect these puppies to be very well built, above average coats, hard driving, but cooperative dogs, with intense water desire and above average field work.
